The Contingency Society
The Contingency Society was created in 1994 following a market golf day won by Peter Large.
Further golf days, dinners, and other social events followed until the very first Contingency Society Conference was held in the London Underwriting Centre in 2003.
Since then an annual conference has been staged and the many and varied social events have continued thus successfully combining education with pleasure.
Today, the society has grown to around 200 members and connects insurance professionals from around the world. Members who specialise in this interesting area of insurance include underwriters, brokers, loss adjusters, lawyers and claims handlers.
The main aim of the society is to provide a platform for networking events within the Contingency market. In addition, it provides education and awareness of ever changing circumstances which can regularly impact this class of insurance.
The society also has close links to the North American Contingency Association (NACA) who organise an annual conference which many of our members attend.
